Saw Avatar today.
Not the anime, the movie with the blue cat people in (more properly, the Navi.) It’s insanely good, even though you can go in pretty much knowing the storyline but still find the little twists and turns in the SL to make you go “OH!”
The parents and I saw it in 3D, so we had these funky Devo glasses on and let me put it this way… the couple extra dollars to see Avatar in 3D is worth it.
The storyline summary is basically like… Jarhead or some military movie meets Star Wars, because Pandora has this… biological “network” of sorts that connects everything on the planet. The one character, Grace, starts off as a right bitch with a mouth to match but you later find out that as her Avatar, she’s completely different and a lot sweeter.
Ney’tiri and Jake are cute, I’ll admit, but DAMN I FELT AWKWARD WITH THE LOVE SCENE BETWEEN THOSE TWO, SQUISHED SITTING BETWEEN MY PARENTS. Otherwise, I woulda looked, I just went red because it’s like… “I’m sitting between my parents, omg. The blue would be furry things on the screen are…. I’M SITTING IN BETWEEN MY PARENTS. OMFG.”
Nuff said.
I think Ney’tiri was my favorite though, especially her little display at the beginning when she’s told she’ll teach Jake the Navi’s way. XD
